About the project
Ten years after an economic plan plunges Argentina into the greatest political and financial crisis in its recent history, a man travels back in time with an impossible mission: infiltrate the inner circle of the newly appointed Minister of Economy and use an ancient technique to erase his memory before the plan can be set in motion.
To reach the minister, he must defeat his bodyguard. During their confrontation, the traveler discovers that the man standing in his way is none other than his own father. Changing the fate of a nation will also mean confronting his personal history—and deciding how much he is willing to sacrifice to prevent a collective tragedy.
Created as a graduation film at Argentina’s National School of Film Experimentation and Production (ENERC), 1002 combines time travel, kung fu, Argentine politics, dark comedy, and family drama.
